Church of Art

This artproject was begun in 2009. It is a work-in-progress at the very early stage.

This is a church without a building. This is a spiritual search without religious guidance. This is a concept. This is hope. This is art.

Art is a global communication that denies the restrictions of a spoken and written language, culture, social differences, politics, religion and time.

The intention of art has always been to investigate and cultivate human behaviour, individual life experience and mutual respect.

At first glance, the intention of art might look similar to that of religion. In fact art and religion hold opposite methods and purposes!

Where the function of religion has been to control the masses, the function of art has been to set the individual free. Where religion has sought to serve the state, art has sought to challenge existing law and restrictions. Religion proposes to deliver the answer. Art proposes to raise the question.

From the Church of Art may spring the Religion of Art – a religion we do not yet know in shape or nature….
